As a resident of Derby and a consistent advocate of Déda, its recent announcement of liquidation deeply concerns me and affects us all, students, professionals, artists, young and old people, children, and all of the thousands of people using this amazing place. Over the years, Déda has been a beacon of joy and a source of immense support for many like me, transcending backgrounds and communities. However, with continual reductions of funding, the future of this dance center is gravely at stake . Déda has been key in enhancing Derby's culture, touching countless lives along its journey and boosting the overall wellbeing of people in our community. Its loss would mean a severe blow to our town's cultural landscape.

The need of the hour is for the Government and local council to intervene and establish a maintainable financial plan that would preserve Déda. We are not merely advocating for a dance center; we are rallying for a cornerstone of our community that enriches the life and soul of Derby.
