The total loss within natural forest was equivalent to 159 kt of CO₂e emissions. From 2001 to 2023, Dehradun lost 650 ha of relative tree cover, equivalent to a 100% decrease since 2000 and 3.1% of the global total.

The water streams of Dehradun have also been badly hit by the rapid urbanisation of the city and poor civic administration. For instance, seasonal rivers like Bindal and Rispana, which once flowed through the heart of the city, have turned into drains full of filth and garbage.

It's high time that we,the people of Dehradun do realise the urgency to prevent felling of our teees and plant as many as possible in coming times to compensate for the damage that has already been done. 

If not for us, for our coming generations atleast!
