This cottonwood grove was downed on Friday in Danny Kendrick Park East, the park just east of Ward Road.

Notice the tree with the pink ribbon on it just left of the excavator:  it is doomed and will likely be felled on Monday along with several others not in this picture.

I think city staff means well, but as Howard Parthum put it in a text to me, "sometimes they underestimate the value a community places on certain amenities."

The city has seriously underestimated the value of those trees and our courts, and we need to make sure they understand what they mean to us.
