The staff and residents have, within the last 48hours,  been given a bombshell by the head of Social Care on the Island that this much valued,loved and used facility will facing closure in the next 2 years WITHOUT a replacement facility being constructed in the North of the Island.

This is a home to 49 elderly or people who require assistance, and offers valuable respite care facilities.The amazing staff there treat the residents with respect, dignity and  really more like family members and NO ONE should be treated the way they have been to date. Goes without saying this is a major employer in Ramsey.

Originally the old Cooil Ny Marrey site was to be demolished and a new facility constructed on those grounds.Now there is no money (allegedly) and potentially residents who have spent their whole life in Ramsey and the North will be plonked in homes in Douglas or wherever there is space when Cummal Mooar closes. Why should the elderly who have paid their dues be treated in such a disgusting way

This petition is to ask the Government to reverse this decision and keep the existing building open until an alternative is built. Please sign, share and petition your MHK to make this happen.
