Dearest Supporters for Crema Cafe,
Yes, Monday December 17th was a sad day, as Crema officially had it’s last day. However, it’s not the last word because….
GREAT NEWS! Our Harvard Square met with Founder of Crema (noble man), who still has ownership. He WOULD LIKE TO OPERATE CREMA IN HARVARD SQUARE if given stability through a long-term lease and reasonable rent (i.e., HELLO, not Bluestone Lane's offer of $30,000/month is insane).
Said owner operates ridiculously popular Felipe’s Taqueria and Flat Patties. Between Crema, Felipe’s and Flat Patties, these three businesses dish up affordable, tasty, homemade cooking for many a Harvard student and visitor. We must protect our local gems. Sign and please SPREAD THE WORD. LET'S MAKE IT TO 5,000!
So remember, and don’t let anyone forget: Bluestone Lane offered triple the rent. It is a big out of town chain and company and they pressured the change of business. So basically, any reasonable spot could be taken over displacing a local business by shear weight of their check book.
We’ve gotta stop this NOW….bullying, piranha, vulture-like picking on our great local businesses like Crema.
Best,
Our Harvard Square
