Save Comrie Christmas Lights & send the Community Council a clear message

The Issue

The beloved Comrie Christmas Lights are at risk of being lost forever.

Some members of the Comrie Community Council want to get rid of the Christmas lights sub-committee. The Community Council are custodians of the lights and hold the Christmas Lights bank. There is a sub-committee who organise events, fundraising and maintenance of the lights.

The Community Council want to get rid of it. There has been no reasonable explanation offered to the public. Initial blame was put at PKC's door saying the committee were acting on their instruction which has now come to light was untrue and a misrepresentation of PKC.

It is imperative that this historical and long lasting arrangement continues to ensure the Christmas Lights have long term sustainability in the security of the public body, the Community Council. The Community Council has a responsibility to the public and need to hear that they are making a huge mistake. This arrangement has lasted many years and so many volunteers have given so much to keep it going. Why risk it all now?

The Comrie Christmas Lights are a cherished tradition that brings joy to our community. Losing them would mean losing a part of our village's festive spirit. We need your support to ensure that these lights can continue to shine brightly for years to come.

Please sign this petition to send a clear message to the Community Council that they must retain the sub-committee and not throw away the future of Christmas in Comrie for generations to come.
