Save Coldharbour Police Base

Save Coldharbour Police Base
The Issue
An official document has emerged that shows Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is AGAIN planning to close the Coldharbour Police Base on William Barefoot Drive, which currently helps protect residents across Mottingham, Coldharbour & New Eltham ward. If the plan goes ahead our police team would instead be based at a new base in Kidbrooke Village, nearly 4 miles away, and on the other side of the South Circular which is often gridlocked. This will leave our communities less safe.
The last time Sadiq Khan tried to close Coldharbour Police Base, back in 2017, local residents, councillors, CTRA and the whole community united to campaign against the closure plan. We’ve done it before and we can do it again.

To: Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
“We, the undersigned, call on Sadiq Khan and the Mayor of London Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) to 1) abandon its plan to "exit" the lease of the Coldharbour Police Base on William Barefoot Drive, and 2) commit to continuing to keep Coldharbour Police Base open so that our police team is based locally.
Any move of our local police team to Kidbrooke Village - on the other side of the often-gridlocked South Circular - would leave residents across Mottingham, Coldharbour and New Eltham, and other local communities in the south of our borough, less safe.”
