Hello, everyone. Again, thank you for all of your engagement regarding this very important petition.
Thanks to you all, we are now at 5,151 signatures. That is amazing, we really appreciate your support! It really shows how important the Cineplex Cinemas Queensway is to our community and the wish to protect entertainment spaces.

Because of the level of signatures our petition has garnered, we have had THREE media outlets contact us and we are meeting with our Councillor, Amber Morley, upcoming!
First,regarding the media outlets, you can read an article regarding this situation in NOW Toronto. The article is entitled "Torontonians launch petition to save Cineplex Cinema from being demolished in Etobicoke" and can be found here. CBC Toronto & Storeys.com have reached out and are considering working with us on creating an article, as well.
Second, and very importantly, we have been given the opportunity to have a meeting with Councillor Morley & her team next week! We find this meeting to be very beneficial in our hopes to work with city officials regarding our desire to preserve the social and community hubs in our city, which Cineplex Cinemas Queensway is a key one for South Etobicoke.
Third, we realize that land development is under the control of the Ontario Land Tribunal, which was granted significant power that can trump municipal decisions. We would like to encourage people to write to our MPP Christine Hogarth at christine.hogarth@pc.ola.org about this. While people need places to live, we also need places of entertainment and engagement, which is very beneficial to all of our mental health & well being.
