An Early Holiday Gift & 2023 Resolution

Before everyone cozies up to weather the storm and enjoy the holidays, we wanted to share more progress on our efforts to save vacation rentals on Oneida Lake.

An Early Gift

While the last couple weeks have seemed quiet, we have, in fact, been busy! We had a productive conversation with Deputy Town Supervisor Mike Becallo.

Deputy Supervisor Becallo has shared that, he too, opposes a ban that would strip homeowners of their property rights! We are lucky to have him as a champion in our corner. (At least one member of the Town Board will be on Santa's "Nice" List this year!!!)

Our 2023 New Year's Resolution

Also, over the past two weeks, engaged members of the community have come together to formally form the Oneida Lake Vacation Renters Alliance! (We're the Oneida Lake VRA for short.)

Please email christine@oneidalakevra.org to learn more and get further involved!

We will work to continue our excellent momentum into the New Year. The Oneida Lake VRA will hold its first general meeting in January, so be on the lookout for an update and invitation. In the meantime, please continue sending your reasons for opposing the ban in proposed Local Law 5 to the rest of the Town Board.

As we prepare to say "goodbye" to 2022, we wish to express our deep thanks and admiration for everyone who signed this petition, shared it with their friends, and helped us postpone this drastic government ban. Our resolution for 2023 is to work to make sure that this ban does not take hold in March!

Wishing you the best of this season and a Happy New Year!
