Western Springs is "over the road" from Chamberlain Park and part of the essential 'bird corridor". We would like to support the efforts of Residents of Westmere and Grey Lynn who will be submitting a petition next week at Council's Resource Consent hearing. The Council want to clear-fell the Monterey Pine trees which will destroy 70% of the regenerating native understorey. Auckland’s urban forest canopy cannot afford to loose all these trees, just as we can't afford to loose the trees at Chamberlain.

Please help increase the numbers by signing their petition to save the Western Springs Native Forest. The Resource Consent Hearing is next week and they will be presenting their petition then.
