Save Chamberlain Park Incorporated
May 31, 2017
Some of you Who live in the AELB area may have received a copy of the Albert-Eden Local Board Draft Local Board Plan 2017. It would help the fight for Chamberlain Park if you provide feedback on the plan. There are three key messages we need to get across, using your own words: 1. Oppose implementation of the Chamberlain Park Masterplan except for the restoration of Waititiko/Meola Creek which can be done without affecting the golf course. 2. The Mt Albert Aquatic Centre should be relocated to Mt Albert War Memorial Reserve (Rocket Park) where it would complement existing fitness and recreation amenities. • Chamberlain Park should be a regional asset, not subject to a local board. If you want to comment on any other aspect of the Plan, please feel free to do so. As well as attending one of the four Have Your Say events noted on page 7 of the attached (particularly the one at 6pm on 13 June at Melville Park) your message can get to the Board in one of the following ways even if you don’t live in the Albert-Eden area, but remember to include that you are providing feedback on the Albert-Eden Local Board Plan. 1. Go on line to www.shapeauckland.co.nz/consultations/draft-local-board-plans-2017, click on “online feedback form” in the body of the text and complete the form on line. 2. Print the form on pages 7 and 8 of the attached and complete it. You can then either: 3. scan it and email it to localboardplans@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz, or 4. drop it off at your local library or local board office, or 5. freepost mail it to Local Board Plans, Auckland Council, Freepost Authority 232621, Private Bag 92300, Auckland 1142. • Write on the Albert-Eden Local Board Facebook page, Facebook.com/alberteden, including the words “Local Board Feedback” 1. Send a private message using Facebook Messenger to @alberteden including the words “Local Board Feedback”. PLEASE NOTE THAT SUBMISSIONS CLOSE ON 30 JUNE 2017 Your assistance in helping to keep Chamberlain Park as an 18-hole golf course will be greatly appreciated.
