Save Chamberlain Park Incorporated
Apr 8, 2017
Mount Albert Residents Association AGM hear Peter Haynes speak on behalf of Albert Eden Local Board about the planned redevelopment of Chamberlain Park. At Ferndale House Monday April 10th at 7:30pm.
If you can go, ask him:
Why is he ignoring nearly 5,000 signatories to the petition to stop the chop?
What about the flawed consultation process? They didn't put in an option to keep the 18 hole golf course.
Does he realise the Board made their decision on incorrect facts? Over 50,000 rounds are played per year and this is increasing with Auckland's growing (and aging) population. it is already a well used sports field!
Do they have geo-tech reports? Leveling basalt rock will significantly add to the cost!
Why can't he consider redesigning the course so walkers and bikers can share it?
What happens to the 80% of players who come from other parts of Auckland and who cannot afford to play at private clubs?
Is he racist? High proportions of players are Maori, Pasifika, Asian.
Is he sexist? About 5 to 1 players are male
Is he Ageist? Significant numbers of players are over 50 - many in their 70s and 80s.
Do they have sign-off from Auckland Transport? Greater numbers of cars will be trying to park and turn into already busy streets.
