When I started this petition, the immediate focus was on the devastating situation unfolding at the lake and the urgent need to save the wildlife. Sadly, despite the incredible support and thousands of signatures, we have now witnessed a heartbreaking loss of fish, ducks, geese and an entire swan family and the remaining wildlife continues to suffer. 

Your support has not been wasted - far from it. The petition has brought huge attention to what is happening at Canvey Lake and helped ensure that this issue could not simply be ignored.

We are now at a crucial point.

We need complete transparency and a clear, public timeline confirming exactly when the restoration works will begin and when they will be completed.

Our goal now is to secure an absolute commitment that the dredging, restoration and all necessary works at Canvey Lake will be completed by the end of winter.

We cannot allow another summer like the one we have just experienced. We cannot stand by and watch the lake and its wildlife suffer again because restoration has been delayed.
