Hello Save Brock's Beach Petition supporters (2305 signatures as of today)

I am happy to congratulate Wasaga Beach new elected municipal candidates and to report that all of them signed our Save Brocks Beach petition against Beachwood Development Inc development, and they know we can hold them accountable:

-          Mayor Brian Smith

-          Deputy Mayor Tanya Snell

-          Councillors Joe Belanger, Sasha-Rose Dileo, Faye Ego, Ellen Timms, Richard White

Also, based on their response to the Wasaga Beach Climate Action Team, we are hopeful that this new council will be more respectful of the environment.

However, I need to alert you that the Doug Ford new Housing Legislation Bill23, if voted, will repeal 36 regulations that gives Conservation Authorities ( such as NVCA, which recommendations have been blocking Beachwood Development so far) oversight over development, which means natural heritage systems, watersheds, woodlands and wetlands won’t be protected anymore  from construction.

Also. no more development fees, as proposed by Bill 23, means towns won’t have money to fund required infrastructure. And the bill does not even address efficiently the real social and affordable housing crisis. It will just help developers do what they want, where they want, when they want, without restrictions imposed by Conservation Authorities and Municipalities.

Therefore, I encourage you to sign this petition: “Stop the destruction of Conservation Authorities In Ontario.” at https://chng.it/jZnF6S9XGR
