The Bergen County Blue Laws have been around since 1957 and has not deterred business from coming to Paramus or anywhere else in Bergen County. In fact, Paramus is the # 1 retail zip code in the COUNTRY on a 6 day week. Lifting the Blue Law the sunday after Hurricane Sandy was a very essential thing to do as people had damage to their homes and were still without power. Now, this is the second Sunday and Kathe Donovan said on Wednesday November 7, all stores should be able to open regardless of utility. Governor Christie concurred. Let us not forget that in November of 2010, Governor Christie has already tried to abolish our Blue Laws. We feel this executive order, if carried out after this Sunday November 11th, reeks of poor politics.
