Save Because We Matter Exotic Rescue!
The Issue
Because We Matter 501c3 has been saving animals and engaging in conservation efforts for over 20 years. We rescue animals who can’t return to the wild, and serve them as caretakers & educators. However, in early 2022, we received a lawsuit by individuals whose intent is to shut us down, claiming that the animals are a nuisance and lower property values. At the same time, Skagit County shut down our educational tours indefinitely. We need your help to continue saving these animals' lives. Please sign and share our petition!

- I believe that wolves, birds, and other animals are worth protecting
- I believe that wolves, birds, and other animals contribute to property value
- I would actively seek out the experience of listening to wolves howl
- I believe that USDA standards for zoos & sanctuaries are enough to make me feel safe around exotic animals
If we close, those who will suffer the most are the animals: they’re with us because their options are sanctuary or death. Most cannot be rehomed and none can be released. The pressure is real.
