COURT UPDATE FROM 10 a.m. HEARING: Beau was supposed to have a hearing in court today and Please Help Beau and the no kill shelter working on this were present with others in support of Danny and Beau. The judge opened the hearing and stated that he felt the city needed to be joined by the District Attorney before any proceedings could occur. He said he was not sure of this, but wanted answers before there would be any sort of hearing. He did NOT extend Beau's euthanasia date and did not hear any other motions to move Beau to safety. No hearing date was scheduled in court, but the judge said he wanted it in November. The no kill shelter personnel went to see Beau and as you can see in the picture, Beau shook hands with the no kill shelter manager. We need to continue to get the word out as the next hearing approaches and we wait to see what the District Attorney says. Your voices are definitely being heard, but the legal process is moving very slowly and Beau's euthanasia date is still set for November 20. The attorneys working towards Beau's demise for the city are paid for by tax dollars. As this case moves forward, boarding fees increase and so will legal filing fees. Beau is enclosed in a small 4 foot or so kennel, and shelter staff said they did not have staff to walk him or take him out. The only time he gets out is when Danny visits him daily.
