Recently, a man in British Columbia posted a video of a bear who was trapped in his garage and wanted to get out.  He claps his hands and stays out of her space, so that she can safely get out.  The mother looks terrified of the man and has no interest in humans.  The end of the video reveals her happy reunification with her cub.  https://thefurbearers.com/blog/viral-bear-video-correct-response-encounter/

Sadly, while this man did everything right, the BC government shoots bears who are considered “pests”.  We would like the BC government to do the right thing and save this mother and cub.  We would like an end to their killing policy and replace it with retrofitting homes, better attractant management, education, rescue and rehabilitation of bears of all ages, and relocation if absolutely necessary.
