At yesterday's Bayfront Park Board meeting, Commissioner Joe Carollo declined to approve Rolling Loud's request to return to Bayfront Park this year until further study of the impact of such events is performed. "If I had to decide right now, I'd have to vote no" said Carollo. Dozens of downtown residents attended the meeting and spoke about the extreme disruption to downtown life that these events cause, including prolonged park closures, park damages, noise and traffic. Bayfront Park has been closed to the public for most of January, and is expected to be fenced off again from early March to early April for Ultra Music Festival. The DNA would like to thank all the residents who attended the meeting. The final vote on Rolling Loud will take place on Friday, February 2 - please attend one last time to ensure that Bayfront Park is open for community enjoyment this spring!
