On Tuesday, January 23 the Bayfront Park Board will discuss approving another Rolling Loud – a three day, mass music event at Bayfront Park in early May, six weeks after the already-scheduled Ultra Music Festival in March. The proposed event is expected to cause significant disruption to Downtown life, including noise, street closures, traffic congestion and prolonged park closure. Since the Park’s management allows lengthy set-up and move-out periods for these events, and since it takes at least two additional weeks to remediate the extensive damage left behind, it is expected that if the event is approved, Bayfront Park will be closed to the public or in a state of disrepair for at least three months between late February and early June. The meeting is open to the public and will include time for public comments. Please attend the meeting and oppose the mismanagement of our public parks!
