Balyang Par 3 is an 18-hole par 3 golf course situated next to the picturesque Barwon River and adjacent to Balyang Sanctuary in Newtown.  

Balyang is unlike any other course in the Geelong region, as it is a pitch and putt course, and is one of only two 18 hole courses in Victoria.

Balyang offers a unique and challenging golf experience that caters for players of all abilities and skill level.  It also provides an affordable, accessible, inclusive environment to socialise and exercise.  

Why this petition matters
The City of Greater Geelong are proposing to lease the land currently occupied by Balyang Par 3 and allow it to be redeveloped into concepts such as a driving range, a mini-golf course, a short format golf course, or a combination of golf facilities.

We are not against the proposal to lease the site, but we are fearful that the unique offering of Balyang Par 3 will be lost forever with the proposed redevelopment and replaced with facilities already widely available in the Geelong region.  For many people, Balyang Par 3 is the only course they can play due to age, disability or physical limitations.

We kindly ask for your support.  By signing this petition, you will join concerned course members, social groups and other interested parties, banding together to let the City of Greater Geelong know WE ARE OPPOSING the proposed redevelopment of Balyang Par 3 Golf Course and want the course to remain in its current 18-hole format.
