f you are not already aware. we are fast approaching the date (27th May 2025) on which, the Submission Review Panel will hand over a report to The City of Greater Geelong council. The report will table recommendations for the future of Balyang Par 3 Golf Course based on feedback gathered from community consultation with COGG councils's Have Your Say campaign that concluded in August 2024

In recent weeks, the Geelong Advertiser has published a number of editorials confirming interest from two groups looking at leasing the site for use as a driving range.

We are emphatically against any driving range redevelopment on the Balyang Par 3 site. It makes no sense to replace a unique facility like Balyang with facilities that are already widely available in the Geelong region. There are three golf courses within 5 kilometres of Balyang that already have a driving range and or a practice facility. Balyang Par 3 is unique, it is Geelong’s only 18 hole pitch and putt course, and one of only two in Victoria.

How can you help?
We need to send a clear message to the City of Greater Geelong and those seeking to lease the Balyang Par 3 Golf Course, that we are saying “NO” to any driving range development!
 
The strongest way to do this is to comment on the recent newspaper editorials, as the media, council and those seeking to lease Balyang Par 3 golf course are reading the responses.
 
Please encourage family and friends to sign our petition, then visit the following links to the Geelong Advertiser Facebook page to post a comment against the recent editorials. The petition and all comments will be submitted to council ahead of the Submission Review Panel report in an effort to influence councils' final decision and save the Balyang Par 3 Golf Course.
