Everyone who has complained to the BBC seems to be receiving the same press release in reply and it does not address their questions.
I've emailed Tim Davie three times and received no reply. I'll try for a fourth time today. Please do so too as the more they receive the more someone further up the chain takes notice.
The press release announcing the cancellation of Autumnwatch infers it has the least impact of all the Watches. Currently 106,000 plus people have signed the petition. I don't call that low impact.
How did Tim Bonner, Chief Executive of the Countryside Alliance ( the hunting, shooting, fishing organisation) get to be the only one to have a comment in the press, in the BBC cancellation article, the very day it was announced? How did he know about the cancellation before it was in the papers? And what has it got to do with his organisation anyway? Why was he asked about it? Why no one else?
If the BBC insists on cancelling Autumnwatch, that family friendly, high quality, educational and inspirational programme, can it please return the licence fee money it spent on Planet Sex, Deep Fake Porn, Porn Laid Bare and Porn: What's the harm? I am sure they all had huge viewing figures but I doubt it was for their educational value and more for a bit of licence fee funded titillation. There's quality programming for you...unless it was a desperately ill advised way to claw back the younger audiences who think the BBC is what their nan watches.
We, the silent majority, will remain silent no longer and we'd like some answers.
Contact the Secretary of State for Digital, Cultural, Media and Sport and ask if they think the BBC has its priorities right.

Please keep sharing this petition and encouraging others to sign. The decision makers are clearly out of touch with what the licence payers want.
Surely 8 hours of screen time, three times a year is not too much to ask for?
