NSC Facilities Remain At Risk:- Since November 2014, the long term future of the NSC has only been deferred, with the GLA now looking to re-consult on its future from later this Autumn. The Mayor recently extended the current contract for GLL, the operators at the NSC, for up to a maximum of 3 years to allow for a new development proposal to be made and implemented. Meanwhile, Bromley Council Executive resolved to progress their Crystal Palace park Regeneration Plan towards an outline planning application by spring 2018. This plan was based on the GLA’s 2014 shortlisted option seeing the stadium, 25m pool and indoor track demolished. Bromley’s regeneration plans were said to be “subject to agreement with the Greater London Authority” regarding the NSC area. To date the GLA say no plans have been agreed as to what facilities will be demolished, kept, or potentially re-provided. And say, a future plan for the NSC must align with the wider regeneration plan for the park.
