This Wednesday, the Arlington County Board votes on the proposed 44% fee hike for Aerials and Tigers. Two ways to help today: 👉 email the Board in 90 seconds, or show up in force at Virtual Open Door Monday tonight (6–8 PM).
Here's the frame worth knowing: the Chair's original mark proposed a 25% initial fee increase. During Thursday's markup, the Board amended it up to 44%, nearly twice what the Chair originally put forward.
The Aerials and Tigers families (current and future) being asked to pay the proposed 44% had no role in creating the budget gap. DPR's staffing and enrollment decisions drove the deficit. Families are being asked to pay for choices they didn't make.
