PROTEST FATIGUE…….the developer is relying on YOU!!!!

The developer is relying supporters being too busy to sustain interest and energy in this protest. Protest Fatigue gets his plans through. Our next deadline is Friday this week. Please take a minute – please send an email to Ryde’s General Manager, copying all Ryde Counsellors and our State and Federal representative, to support to the legal team at City of Ryde Council. The Heritage Order is underway but not yet passed. It should protect the house and gardens but not if the developer is successful. RIGHT NOW, we are now facing the Land & Environment Court re the developer’s new plans – a much larger structure, ignores recommendations of Heritage Order, ignores the current traffic gridlock, the increased traffic and the safety of pedestrians, ignores the points causing Council to reject the first DA, no building setbacks, raised height of ground level to enable large scale excavation of basement level, non-compliant floor space ratio, maximum excavation of the site, increased height of total build, a three storey commercial structure totally unsympathetic to the one level residential street houses. Substantial increased overshadowing of the neighbour. The new build abuts the rear of the Federation House, which means the destruction of the Livistona Australis Palm trees which appear of the 1943 aerial photo of the site – these palms are plus 70 years and need to be protected – they grow very slowly. The developer has ignored all suggestions and consideration for the residents. Please help us.
