Dear supporters,
Thank you for your fast responses.
As a short update from yesterday's Board of Commissioners Meeting : The developer's request to increase the sewer capacity has been withdrawn from yesterday's agenda. This can have many reasons and we believe that this request might re-appear in one of the future BOC meetings again.
As for now, Steve Bradshaw and the Director of Parks Chuck Ellis have expressed interest in purchasing the land from the developer Gus Abalo, who is the current owner. These communications are taking time and are slow.
How can you help?
1. You can write an email of support to Commissioner Steve Bradshaw and the Dekalb Director of Parks Chuck Ellis and express your support for Dekalb County purchasing the 40-acre Land at 4994 Rockbridge Rd from the current owner Gus Abalo in order to preserve this old growth forest.
email: "Bradshaw, Stephen R." <SRBradshaw@dekalbcountyga.gov>, "Ellis, Chuck" <coellis@dekalbcountyga.gov>
2. You can write a kind email of encouragement to Gus Abalo, the current owner and potential developer, expressing your wish for the land at 4994 Rockbridge Rd to be preserved, and saving approximately 9000 trees, many more than 150-200 years old. Ask him kindly to sell the land to Dekalb County for this purpose.
email: "Gus Abalo" <gusabalo@outlook.com>
Thank you for all you do to preserve this forest. Merry Christmas and much love to all.
Alex
