Dear friends and supporters,

On January 26th, the Dekalb Board of Commissioners unanimously denied the Rezoning request to R60 of the Rockbridge Rd forest. (in other words, they denied the developer's request to build 124 houses with increased density).

This is an important step on the road to what we are wishing for, to preserve this land entirely as a Nature Preserve, or at least to push for an ecological development, which leaves no less than 60% of these 40 acres untouched. Of course we want to preserve 100%.

Thank you all for your support, this petition made enough noise so far, for the Commissioners to listen. 

What is next?

The developer is still under contract to build R100 development (approx. 87 houses). We are not done yet. 
Our main goal is the perservation of the land. 
We are pursuing several possibilities, of which, as mentioned, the last option should be a partial preservation within an ecologically conscious development.
