Last night two of the Walton County Commissioners, Cecelia Jones and Bill Chapman, let Walton County residents know that their private property rights don’t matter, that what Walton County residents believe is right for their community doesn’t matter and that developers run the show. They approved a blatantly false application. They approved a project that needs access via a private road of which they don’t have permission to use. They approved a project that isn’t compatible with the neighborhood or 30A. The residents of that road and neighborhood were out in force at the Technical Review Committee meeting, the Planning Commission meeting and the County Commission meeting letting everyone at every level know they didn’t want their private road used for this purpose. It all fell on deaf ears. The residents of Walton County need to be diligent in monitoring development on 30A. The precedent has been set and the big box tourist stores are on the way. We’re well on our way to losing the unique identity of 30a and turning into a Panama City or Destin. It’s a sad day in Seagrove, but we don’t plan on giving up. We will explore legal options and continue updates through this site and may call on you for action in the future. Please continue to stand with us. This was a decision that will have huge ramifications for the development of 30A. Thank you for signing this petition and standing up for our community. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming. The Save30A team
