Dear 30A Friends- Happy New Year! This message is to update you on the Major Development Proposal by the “Snappy Turtle” Developer for Dalton Drive in the Eastern Lake/Dalton Subdivision Neighborhoods. The BCC will revisit and vote on the developer’s request to build a 7,000 sq foot/ 50 ft tall building. It’s the first item on the agenda on Tuesday, January 10th at 2:30 pm at the County Commission Courthouse Annex (off of US 331). WE NEED YOUR HELP! Would you please act on the following: 1. Email ALL of the county commissioners (info below) on Sunday January 8th so they have your email concerns to review on Monday, January 9th. 2. Please call and directly communicate your concerns to each commissioner on Monday January 9th. 3. CRITICALLY IMPORTANT – please come and attend the commission meeting Tuesday, January 10th at 2:30 pm at the county courthouse annex off of US 331. Even if you came to the last meeting and spoke already, it is imperative that the commissions see community members when they vote on this issue. What 30A is and will become requires community involvement. 4. Please pass this information on to at least five others you may know. It is through grass root efforts that we will be a positive force for growth and smart development. This build concerns all of us, not just Eastern Lake, because it represents the first major build on the South side of 30A in this area and will set forth the precedent of scale, size, intensity and types of stores the county finds compatible with 30A.
