INCREDIBLE NEWS! We are Watching the Making of History Together! 

Thank you to everyone who has signed and/or donated to this petition! We've achieved an amazing milestone with almost 1,100 signatures and the momentum keeps building! 

Here's the exciting update that shows our voices are being heard: 

The FDA Modernization Acts 2.0 and 3.0 represent a groundbreaking victory for animal welfare! These acts establish a path for qualifying and adopting alternatives, non-animal testing methods. Most remarkably, a roadmap has been created that eliminates the 80-year-old mandate requiring all drugs be tested on animals prior to clinical human trials. A practice that has proven both ineffective and inhumane. 

Drug developers can now use innovative, human-relevant alternatives like Organ Chip technology for example, which is already developed and being successfully implemented. Animal testing will become the exception, not the rule in just a few short years! Pharmaceutical companies will be incentivized to use non animal methods by receiving an expedited FDA review/ approval to proceed to human clinical trials, allowing their approved prescription drug to market faster and helping to address the 7000 diseases impacting humans! In addition, this process is more cost effective as it streamlines the overall R&D process and reduces the timeframe for approvals. 

While we celebrate this monumental progress, our mission continues with renewed energy. We need to continue to push for change on several fronts where animal testing still occurs: 

 • Cosmetic testing (encouraging progress as more states enact protective laws) • Toxicity and chemical testing on animals • Draize eye testing on rabbits • Classroom dissection (exciting alternatives like "opt out" programs and virtual/physical models through BioLeap are becoming widely available) 

  Our next targets for change: The Animal Welfare Act needs updating to protect the 95% of animals currently exempted (rats, mice, birds, fish, and reptiles), improve the minimum care standards for animals they do cover and we're advocating for research animals to be adopted out to live fulfilling lives after their service. 

The momentum is undeniable—keep sharing and spreading the word! Every signature brings us closer to a future where science and compassion work hand in hand.
