The Issue

Ten political prisoners in Isfahan are reportedly facing an imminent risk of execution. Their lives may depend on urgent international attention and action.

These individuals have been convicted in connection with political activities. Reports from human rights advocates have raised serious concerns regarding the fairness of their proceedings and the risk that death sentences could soon be carried out.

We respectfully call upon the Government of Greece, the European Union, the United Nations, and the international community to use every available diplomatic and legal channel to help prevent these executions and to ensure that international human rights standards are respected.

Every human life deserves due process, dignity, and justice. Executions carried out without internationally recognized fair trial guarantees would represent an irreversible violation of the right to life.

Το Ζήτημα

Δέκα πολιτικοί κρατούμενοι στην Ισφαχάν φέρονται να αντιμετωπίζουν άμεσο κίνδυνο εκτέλεσης. Η ζωή τους μπορεί να εξαρτάται από την άμεση διεθνή προσοχή και παρέμβαση.

Σύμφωνα με διαθέσιμες πληροφορίες, οι συγκεκριμένοι κρατούμενοι έχουν καταδικαστεί για υποθέσεις που σχετίζονται με πολιτική δράση. Οργανώσεις και υπερασπιστές των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων έχουν εκφράσει σοβαρές ανησυχίες σχετικά με τη δίκαιη διεξαγωγή των διαδικασιών και τον άμεσο κίνδυνο εκτέλεσης των ποινών.

Καλούμε την Ελληνική Κυβέρνηση, την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη και τη διεθνή κοινότητα να αξιοποιήσουν κάθε διαθέσιμο διπλωματικό και νομικό μέσο ώστε να συμβάλουν στην αποτροπή αυτών των εκτελέσεων και στην προστασία των θεμελιωδών ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων.

Η ανθρώπινη ζωή, η δίκαιη δίκη και η ανθρώπινη αξιοπρέπεια πρέπει να προστατεύονται χωρίς εξαιρέσεις.

την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση,
τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη,
και τις διεθνείς οργανώσεις ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων,
να αναλάβουν άμεσες διπλωματικές πρωτοβουλίες για την αποτροπή των εκτελέσεων και την προστασία των θεμελιωδών δικαιωμάτων των κρατουμένων.
