Dear Natavia,
Thank you for supporting our cause, as we currently have an issue with the impending construction of The City Maintenance Lot next to our homes in Carver Village. Our 1st District Alderwoman has abandoned her constituents, as well as our 2 At Large Alderwomen, Kesha Gibson-Carter, and Alicia Blakely.
As you can see by the enclosed emails, I have been fighting for improvements for a long time.
As you know, I am a 67 year old 100% Disabled Veteran, My neighbor, Mr. Pluitt is a 94 year old Disabled Vet. Mr. Walker, is in his 80s. We are among many who are ultimately impacted by this intrusive development, and desire to have developed, a more desirable, neighborhood and consumer themed development. We want something nice! We appreciate you representing us, as we have been having difficult times.
Again, Thank YOU for speaking and collaborating in our best interests. You have our SUPPORT 200%
Best regards,
Louis E. Wilson, Sr.

Details about the Background History of this Development.
Mr. Wilson has been advocating against this development since 2013 and have shared emails of advocacy dating back to 2015.
The City Public Works operations are currently located on Stiles Avenue between Louisville Road and Gwinnett is in preparation in moving to property located near Colat avenue, right in back of the community center and across from the community park. This was already decided upon in the previous administration, but certain concessions were made since stopping the project was not going to happen. The garbage trucks will not be on the premises at this location. The buildings they are currently located in will be demolished. The business offices will be housed at this location. The trucks will be at the old Waste Management Facility on Highway 80. Alderwoman Lanier also mentioned there is plans to put a barrier wall in front of the maintenance facility to help for cosmetic reason and give privacy.
However, in speaking with various residence, they are not okay with that particular development. They have expressed a need for a development that will help the community grow and enhance it, especially since it just received it's Historic District designation in January of 2019. They have also just received a culture overlay approved by the council recently. There are citizens that are willing to organize against the Carver Village Neighborhood Association of whom citizens say is not an adequate representation of the community. Many people do not attend the neighborhood meeting and had no clue they were going to start this development until it started. some have expressed that when they attempted in the past to express their desires it often was not considered by the neighborhood organizations leaders.
Right now the only demand is to Stop Where they are at, and allow citizens who are now informed about this development an opportunity to openly express their concerns and the community needs for a development that will help the community grow and not close them in. They said this particular development closes them in and will diminish their quality of life through noise pollution.
I encourage you all to go personally and take a look at the development and how it directly intrudes into the neighborhood and closes it off.
It is so important to put a development that will enhance this Historic District, like all other Historic District in the Savannah community and not take from it.
Thank you for your support and please continue to share this petition.
