I am glad that this petition has been brought to my notice. The Aam Aadmi Party has been striving relentlessly so that Delhi has world-class infrastructure like capitals of many other countries.

Our free bus travel for women scheme is aimed at encouraging women to take public transport as part of their regular lives and seek out better opportunities for themselves. We have appointed over 13,000 marshalls in DTC buses for women to travel comfortably without any fear.

We also dealt with female foeticide sternly by introducing radical measures for penalising sex determination centers and offering cash incentives to decoys and informers.

We installed 1.4 lakh CCTV cameras in many parts of Delhi. Another 1.4 lakh CCTV cameras are currently being installed.

We announced better street lighting for women to feel safe in public places. Over 2500 dark spots have been identified for LED lighting. And we have begun installing over 2 lakh street lights all over Delhi to completely eliminate dark spots.

A Safetipin report that studied dark spots in Delhi shows a massive drop in dark spots because of our proactive efforts in the last five years.

We are determined to make Delhi the safest city for women - a city where no woman or girl child will have to think twice before accessing public places. My government will consider the issue that your petition talks about. It’s my government’s utmost priority to listen to people who brought us in power.
