Many of you might have lost excellent job opportunities just because of your notice period. 

There might have been times where you gave an excellent job interview but in the final round got rejected just because your notice period was around 3 months. 

Some HRs will not consider even contacting you if you have a long notice period. Especially at junior levels.

All this just because your company forces you to stay by slapping you with a unreasonably long notice period. To stop this we must raise our voices in unity. SEZs have already allowed companies to stop employees from forming unions with the help of the government. But they should not be allowed to break our spirits. They should not be allowed to exploit us. If they want someone to stay, they should make it worth for them to stay. Not force them. 

So this petition's only goal is to get the government to form a law about duration of notice periods. One that every company in India must follow. If India is a democracy, it's time the government listens to the ignored middle class citizens of this country.
