Tonight, Thurs., 12/19 @ 7 pm be at the City Council Chambers

It is important to appear in person at  809 Center St., Santa Cruz, CA. TONIGHT!
Come and tell your point of view on why the proposed building for 831 Water St. causes health problems for our community due to the shade it will cast on a row of homes causing mold and unhealthy living conditions.

Tell how the City of Santa Cruz is well on its way to meeting its 2031 RHNA goals and the size of this project could be reduced and still add
100% affordable units. There are approx 3,500 units already being built. In 6 more years 1,134 more units will be added without this project being as large as proposed. This project sits atop a hill and will be an eyesore for miles. If the project were 3 stories and matched the Mediterranean-style buildings on Water St. it would be a welcome contribution.

The proposed design requires delivery trucks to back out onto busy streets. This is a health issue, especially for the 3 nearby schools where students ride bikes and skateboards down these streets.

The lack of drainage for the groundwater that gathers in this area is a health hazard.

This project is a bait and switch and should be a new application rather than a modification to an existing project.

This project needs to be resubmitted and re-evaluated not a ministerial project. A smaller 100% affordable unit project can still apply for federal dollars and that should be the recommendation of the Planning Commission.

Please attend this meeting tonight.
Thank you.
