Tell the Santa Cruz City Council to vote NO on Agenda item 26.
It is very important to plan to speak today because there will be people speaking in favor of the FDU ordinance because they are having a hard time with housing. The FDUs are not the solution because there is no limit on what the units will cost and many market-rate units will be built rather than affordable housing. (Research and the county's data shows the higher the average wage goes the higher the AMI goes up which will make it more difficult for the very low-income units to be built. These units are the units Santa Cruz is having the hardest time getting built.) 
Santa Cruz needs 100% affordable housing. Salinas and Monterey have built some. The Santa Cruz City Council needs to direct the city staff to apply for state grants and actively search out funds to build 100% affordable housing in Santa Cruz.
