Attend in nearby Capitola Thurs., Mar. 8, 7 pm Mid-county Senior Center, 829 Bay Ave. Capitola Or Wed., Mar. 6, 7 pm Watsonville, Community Room, 275 Main St. Watsonville. Over 150 people attended the Mar. 5 meeting at the Paradox in Santa Cruz. We need more in attendance! Even if you attended one meeting you are welcome to attend another meeting to express your concerns about negative traffic impacts, depletion of our water, negative impact on housing. Speaking is great. Just being there is great too! Other UC campus can expand. Merced and UC Riverside are options. John Aird of the Community Water Coalition and the Committee to Limit University Expansion (CLUE), spoke at the Mar. 5th meeting telling the University that "enough is enough," and that the community can't take 10,000 more students. The audience STRONGLY approved these sentiments. Your support is needed at one of the upcoming meetings. This is no small matter. Our voice needs to be expressed. Mark your calendars for Meeting to attend: Santa Cruz City Council Meeting Council ChambersTues., Mar. 27 at either 2:30 pm or 7:00 pm. Check the agenda for time posted 72 hours prior on http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-council/council-meetings The City Council Ad Hoc Committee will present their housing recommendations for the future of the city of Santa Cruz. We need to show up in large numbers to voice our concerns. Showing up matters even if you do not speak. Plan ahead to be there. Each person attending makes a difference. If the corridors are not zoned high-density UCSC may be more likely to limit their expansion.
