It is very important to stay informed especially if you do not wish to live in gridlock. Especially if you heard how our City Council is not thorough in asking the right questions on the type of zoning for building to take place in Santa Cruz. The City Council does not ask detailed questions on how many new housing units it would take to bring pricing down. They hear partial information on a UC Berkeley study and do not ask the details and continue to work on plans which will harm our town. They do not ask if the study was done on a coastal town. Thurs., October 26 attend to hear what can be done to keep Santa Cruz City Council from zoning to allow 5 and 6 story buildings on Water St. and Soquel Ave. The measurements they use measure to set height are at the midline not the peak of the building. Many dense units would add more traffic, congestion and pollution to Santa Cruz. Our roads our not built to handle high density buildings.
