S BurkSanta Cruz, CA, United States

Your input is needed. This is a meeting for community input THERE ARE TWO IMPORTANT MEETINGS OCT 19 at 5:30 pm and ANOTHER ON OCT 20 6:00 pm It is important to come and give input on the streets you do not want parking removed from. On the draft for the Active Transportation Plan (ATP) it currently reads removal of parking on Fairmont Ave. in Santa Cruz. Parking is needed on Fairmount. (Day and night cars utilize the parking due to deep lots and more than one residence on some lots.) The draft states putting in bike lanes on this busy street in which cars exit from Hwy 1 and removing parking on both sides of the street. See Page 87 Item 77. THERE ARE OTHER STREETS THAT WOULD BE SAFER FOR BIKE LANES THAT RUN THE SAME DIRECTION AS FAIRMOUNT. ONE STREET SHOULD NOT HAVE ALL ITS PARKING REMOVED. WITH SIGNAGE DIRECTING BIKE RIDERS ONE STREET COULD HAVE EASTBOUND BIKE LANES ON ONE SIDE OF THE STREET AND ANOTHER STREET COULD HAVE A WESTBOUND BIKE LANE TO ALLOW PARKING ON EACH OF THE STREETS. STREETS THAT ARE NOT AS BUSY AS FAIRMOUNT WOULD BE SAFER FOR BIKE RIDERS AND CARS. PLEASE SEE PAGE 87 iTEM 77 CHECK FOR YOUR OWN STREET.
