Dear Folks,

The Santa Cruz City Council will soon vote on whether to locate the Downtown library in a parking structure, or renovate the library on its current site. Do you think it would be important for the Council to make this decision after considering the Downtown Parking Strategic Plan that the City paid Nelson\Nygaard $100,000 to develop? City staff have not brought this report to the Council, presumably because it does not support the construction of a new garage.

We need to generate a tsunami of emails to CityCouncil@cityofsantacruz.com. Here's a sample letter:

Dear Mayor and City Council Members,

Please invite Nelson\Nygaard to present their strategies for addressing future parking demand in Downtown before you make any decisions on new garage construction.
