We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We know this is a very busy time of year but thought you may want to know what happens now in relation to the advertising hoarding. At the Planning Committee meeting in December the decision of the Committee was to recommend to Council that the application is approved. As approval of the application represents a departure from Council Policy the Planning Committee did not have the power to make a decision on it. We were very disappointed in the Planning Committees recommendation to approve the application but we will have one last chance to get it rejected at the full Council meeting on 12 January. We will continue to represent your views and will speak in opposition of the application again. The campaign has received quite a lot of press coverage with Liam being interviewed twice on radio WM and coverage in the Express and Star. You can read the E & S article by clicking the link below. The Council meeting on 12 January is a public meeting, if any of you wish to attend you are welcome to do so, it starts at 6pm at the Council House, Oldbury.
