Over 1,900 people have joined you in signing our petition to name a street in San Jose after Barack Obama. A dedicated group of community leaders has formed to lead this effort. We decided on the street we'd like to rename after President Obama, Almaden Boulevard in Downtown San Jose (there are 3 other roads in the vicinity with "Almaden" in the name). One of our next steps is to talk to property owners on Almaden Boulevard. The other is to apply to get the street renamed. To file an application, we need to raise nearly $8,000 to pay the City of San Jose's application fee. Right now, we've 15% of the funds we need.
