We will be back out by the entrance to San Diego City Hall (202 C St at 2nd Av) again this Friday (10/20) , 11:30a-1p, because 200 SafeCamp Spaces and 80 SafePark Spaces announced in the past week is a start -- 9 Months after we started urging the Mayor to do so with this Petition. He needs to do 10-15 times more of each to provide Safe Space for the remaining 2900+ Unsheltered San Diegans. Totally doable in just part of the Q parking lot. In 2007, 11k victims of wildfires were sheltered there -- this next week is the 10th Anniversary of this happening. Very fitting to open it up once more for San Diegans made homeless by the City's replacement of 10k low income housing units with market-rate/luxury development since 2010.
