Although he may have been killed, I want to bring attention to the dogs at the Los Angeles City Shelters. The shelters have announced that they will no longer require appointments as they acknowledge that it is causing too many animals to be killed. Tip, a dog featured in this post, has been suffering at the LA City Pound for over a year, and now the new GM is considering killing him, despite being a good dog.

LA County is considering its response to LA City's admission that moving to appointment-only was a mistake. Supervisor Janice Hahn has been requested to comment by Monday at noon. A Grand Jury in Orange County has ordered shelters to fully reopen and stop the potentially illegal requirement for appointments. The question remains whether LA County will follow suit, like most Southern California animal pounds, and fully reopen. I'll let you know how Janice responds.
