Millions of people around the world share life-saving Facebook posts saving animal lives as they wait in animal pounds to be saved. Now, imagine if there were people on Earth that spent time trying to get those posts removed. Now, imagine your tax dollars FUNDING those efforts to remove these posts.

It's happening in Apple Valley, California.

The animal networking page entitled, "Networking Apple Valley Shelter Dogs - Volunteer Page" was removed from Facebook today. A page that has more than 5000 followers. A page responsible for saving thousands of lives. Who would even think about spending time and tax dollars attempting to get life saving pages removed? I'll answer that question in a moment.

More importantly, what TYPE of person can justify doing ANYTHING that would bring ANY TYPE of harm to an innocent cat or dog? A local psychologist describes a person who knowingly causes any type of harm or death to animals as exhibiting signs of antisocial behavior or conduct disorder, which are both associated with a lack of empathy for others, disregard for social norms, and a tendency towards aggression. In some cases, such behavior may also be indicative of underlying mental health issues that require professional intervention. Additionally, research has shown that there may be a link between animal abuse of any type and other forms of violence, including domestic violence and child abuse.

Today, the administration of "Networking Apple Valley Shelter Dogs - Volunteer Page" found out their page was removed from Facebook. A page responsible for saving thousands of cats and dogs at one of the worst Animal Pounds in America. That's right...the page has been removed/unpublished.

But this isn't the first time sick, sick people targeted networkers saving lives. After the Founder of the networking page "Friends of Apple Valley Shelter Animals" received threats from the staff at Apple Valley Animal Shelter, her page was removed/unpublished. The page had accumulated over 13,000 followers. I know it's true because I was one of the Administrators. See below excerpts from a letter I wrote to the staff after the networking page was removed/unpublished. I don't know about you but it makes me want to vomit that our tax dollars are funding sickos spending their time doing ANYTHING that leads to the death of animals in their OWN care. It's like they are trying to kill them or get some sick pleasure pumping these animals full of poison. Why are we allowing the mentally-ill to work at animal pounds?  (see my letter below)

Dear Staff of the Apple Valley Animal Shelter,

I am writing to you as a concerned citizen of San Bernardino County and as one of the Administrators of “Friends of Apple Valley Shelter Animals” on Facebook. After contacting Facebook, it has been brought to our attention at least one of your employees has reported our page to Facebook. Due to these actions taken by your facility, our page has been unpublished. In addition, we have physical evidence that shows this same employee making a request that we change the name of our page a few months ago. We plan to pursue this fraudulent, over-reaching complaint based merely on the name of our networking page. Please provide us evidence that you are doing business as “Friends of Apply Valley Shelter Animals" and we will gladly change the name of our page. If you can't, you are directly causing the suffering and death of animals in your care by doing anything to cause our Page to be removed. These actions may be considered illegal. If not illegal, they are clearly unethical.

(letter end)

I wrote the above letter believing we had a shot of restoring the networking page for my friend and for the animals. The networking page never came back. My friend who was the Founder of the page was a wheelchair bound woman who sat day after day attempting to save the animal lives at Apple Valley Animal Shelter. It gave her purpose in her disability. Her page was responsible for saving thousands of lives that were doomed to be killed. When our page disappeared, the evidence was clear.

Today, as another lifesaving page disappears from Facebook, I want you to think about what type of people target American citizens who volunteer their time and talent in an effort to save cats and dogs at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter. What type of person thinks it's a good idea to silence speech of someone who gives of their time freely to save lives? I'll tell you who. It's a small group of individuals in Apple Valley who PLAY GOD and how in my opinion are dangerous. Ask the dogs and cats. DANGEROUS. And it's all paid for with your tax dollars. Let me be clear...it's not ALL the employees at this facility. I know there are some good ones. But it's the leadership that are as sick as they come in my opinion. We need AVAS to immediately be investigated. Be certain. I'm already speaking with the Attorney General's office and some other offices I will not mention here on investigating these truly sick, sick people. Ask yourself, what type of person says to herself, "I'm going to get that lifesaving page removed from Facebook?" Yup. Pray for the dogs and if you can help bring light to save these animals at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter....the dogs and cats need you to call your elected representative NOW!
