Geta
The final post of End of Day (Today!) LANCASTER SHELTER DOGS. Her nam is Greta  she’s a beautiful spayed pup - 2 years old! Fine with other Lg dogs… pretty  girl.

#A5532675 Greta Playgroup:
She was at kennel gate with a wiggly body, periodically jumping with her front paws. The runner opened the gate and she remained excited. The runner presented the loop leash. She continued to jump and paw at the leash. The runner tried multiple times before he was able to place it over her head. She walked just behind the runner on the way to the catch pen. She entered the pen and walked up to the play yard fence with soft eyes and loose body. She greeted a female husky, remaining relaxed. The runner placed the collar around her neck easily. She entered the yard and was surrounded by the other dogs. She was initially wary, quickly relaxing to greet each of them. She walked away to explore the yard for a few minutes. A male lab came up to her playfully. He play bowed at her feet to entice play. She declined the invitation at this time. She had soft eyes and relaxed body as she solicited affection from the handlers. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, MIDDLE SCHOOL AGED (REC), CALM DOGS (REC)… VERY SWEET!

TOBY
As far as I know, this dog has no other post on Facebook! He is part of the KILL LIST at Lancaster for TODAY 3/25
** SENIOR DACHSHUND**
TOBY is approximately 10 years and 1 months old, a male Dachshund. Waiting since February 24, 2023 - when his owner dumped him.

#A5536416 Toby Playgroup:
He was standing at the back of the kennel as the handler approached. The handler knelt down at the kennel gate and began to verbally coax him. He approached the gate and sniffed the handler's hand. The handler sectioned him off to one side of the kennel by closing the dividing hatch. The handler entered the kennel, knelt down and tried to verbally coax him, but he would not approach. The handler approached him and loop leash him without issue. He exited the kennel willingly. He walked to the play yard next to the runner with no pull on the leash. He was taken to a side yard for the handling assessment. He was given a few minutes to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt down and called to him. He approached the handler willingly with a low body, low tail and soft eyes. He allowed the handler to pet him on the head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to pet the back of his neck and down the full length of his back with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth, but lowered his head as he did. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch and lift all four of his paws with no reaction, but had concerned eyes. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. He can be wary with faster movements and needs a go slow approach. He displayed no negative or concerning behavior toward the handler during the handling assessment and was just very timid. He was returned to his kennel without issue and allowed the handler to easily remove the loop leash from him. HIGH SCHOOL AGED (REQ)

I hope a good soul comes and adopts this sweet old boy... I'm sure he has some good years left and he's darling (even in this crappy photo).
