The Director of Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control has turned in a new 5 year plan to curb her killings at Los Angeles County facilities. After her recent exposure of mismanagement resulting in Bowie's Law, the County is attempting to save face by demanding to see a new plan which shows the Director's efforts to stop the killings.
Please read the Director's report and comment about your favorite and least favorite parts. You'll see my favorite part below. My least favorite part? In my opinion, just look at the tax-funded salaries.
Positions Needed
A number of staff positions are needed to be able to further reduce animal euthanasia. Those positions, and the work they will do to further this goal, include:
1. Animal Placement Coordinators: Dedicated staff are required to be able to fully concentrate on networking animals to Adoption Partners, assist the Adoption Partners, network the animals on social media, place animals into foster homes, coordinate transfers between animal care centers for animals in need of different exposure for adoption opportunities, and provide other services to support our placement efforts.
