Update on Protest:
Healthy animals die daily in Apple Valley but it's the animal pound doing the killing. It's not dog fights. It's not people torturing them. It's our local animal pound pumping poison into their veins. This is not a joke. It's not an effort to anger you. It's a simple truth. And they are killing thousands every year. At the Big Bear Animal Shelter, not one cat or dog has been killed in three years. WTF!
Yesterday, I spoke to an AVAS employee who refused to admit the pound is also having an issue with distemper. Though I'm being told all incoming animals receive a vaccine, this is NOT how you handle a distemper outbreak in an animal control facility. It's only part of how to address the issue. I mentioned to Ms. Hall that their Director of Animal Services just posted on Facebook about the issue. She did not believe me so I sent her a copy of the post. #OversightNeededNow
I will share more in the coming days about AVAS's decision to lie to the public and withhold the truth about what is happening at this facility but the amount of proof we have is overwhelming. As a community of Concerned Californians, we can only process so much mismanagement in one day.
