As many of you know, Big Bear has went against our community wishes to remain a No Kill Community and started killing our stray animals again.

They've placed a new dog on the chopping block this week. Meet Jake (Pet ID A721983) who is located in our animal pound on Northshore Road in Big Bear City. Why are they going to kill Jake? They report the dog "Jumped For The Handler's Face" in the pound. I've met this dog and have spent time petting him through the kennel gate. He is a dog that is very playful but not at all as they are describing. Big Bear Animal Care and Control does not do evaluations of any of their animals. They also DO NOT ALLOW people to have professional evaluations of animals in their care. Our pound does NOT walk or exercise ANY of the animals. They do not allow volunteers either. If you are willing to adopt this dog or know of a rescue who will take him, please text private citizen Ted Trent at 213-948-3165. If you are a rescue group, go direct.

If you live in Big Bear Lake and want to protect our animals, please run for City Council. Our petition now has more than 9000 signatures. I'm sure we can get you enough votes. Text me at 213-948-3165 if you need help with your campaign.
